The article reports that President Trump signed an emergency order banning U.S. purchases or installation of certain foreign-made bulk-power system electrical equipment and related software, and lists FSLR among several solar stocks rising in response. The body does not explain the specific mechanism linking the order to FSLR's price move, and contains no FSLR-specific operational or financial information.
First Solar's 2.4-million-square-foot Louisiana factory, which began production in 2025, now turns raw glass into 12 finished solar panels every minute. The plant uses cadmium telluride (a thin-film semiconductor material) rather than conventional silicon, which insulates it from polysilicon tariffs, but it still depends on Chinese tellurium. Domestic content requirements in customer contracts support the plant's economics.
Argus reaffirmed a "buy" rating on First Solar and set a $275 price target in a research note published Wednesday.
A law firm is reminding First Solar investors that the deadline to apply to be lead plaintiff in a federal securities class action lawsuit against the company is August 24, 2026.
