Dycom reported second-quarter revenue of $2.01 billion, up 45.6% from a year earlier, but $397.5 million of that came from newly acquired businesses, meaning about two-thirds of the $628 million total revenue increase was bought rather than earned. Organic revenue (excluding acquired businesses) still grew a healthy 16.7% to $1.61 billion. Communications backlog grew 37.5% to $10.98 billion, excluding acquisitions.
