Diversified Energy Company agreed to buy Birch Permian Holdings from Elliott Investment Management for about $1.8 billion, the largest acquisition in Diversified's 25-year history. The deal adds roughly 68,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of production from the Permian Basin and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
