Recent news
most recent scored articles · the chip is the article’s score · click to openFiserv joined Visa and Mastercard as members of the 26-member Agentic Payments Alliance, a group that is setting industry standards for how AI agents handle payments.
Fiserv's Q2 revenue of $4.96 billion fell 4.5% from a year earlier and missed analyst expectations by 1.7%. The company also posted the weakest results among four payment processing stocks tracked, with earnings per share missing estimates and full-year guidance falling short of what analysts expected.
An analyst maintains a 'Strong Buy' rating on Fiserv, arguing that pessimism is priced in and that Clover holds meaningful untapped value. The analyst cites potential asset sales, including the debit card network, and possible activist pressure as paths to unlock value, while acknowledging recent margin compression and revenue declines with recovery not expected until late 2026 or 2027.
On August 18, 2026, Rain launched the Agentic Payments Alliance (APA), a coalition of 26 founding members including Visa, Mastercard, Fiserv, Circle, and Solana, aimed at defining rules for agentic commerce (transactions made by autonomous software on behalf of users). The alliance will focus on agent authorization, fraud detection, loyalty integration, identity standards, and regulatory advocacy.
A financial analysis asks whether Fiserv's current low share-price valuation is a buying opportunity, but concludes the case is uncertain because growth is expected to slow into 2026, profit margins are under pressure, and the company's debt load remains heavy.
